Swirls Arcade

swirls

Introduction
I built the website for Swirls Frozen Dairy and Juice Bar, www.swirlsyogurt.com.
The boss had mentioned that he had an extra touch screen display, possibly for a kiosk where customers could browse the menu, or check caloric information. I told him I’d like to make a “Swirls Arcade” for customers to pass time while in line, or waiting for their order to be prepared. He told me, “Make the Game and I’ll run it out there.” I don’t think he actually expected me to make anything awesome, but that just fuels my fire.

The Concept
Swirls sells many different things, e.g. Frozen Yogurt, Smoothies, Fresh Squeezed Vegetable Juices, Sandwiches, Wraps, Soups and more. I decided the best type of game would be something fast, easy to learn, yet difficult to master.

I came up with Swirls Arcade. The goal is to collect the items on the recipe bar, and avoid all other items, no matter what.
Who wants pickles on their froyo? Eww.

The Project
I wrote the entire thing in C++, using OpenGl graphics. I made the models in Blender and the textures in photoshop.
